Proud to be in community of healers at Indigo Dragon Center of Health in Encinitas

Amy Ligani     lives in Carlsbad CA with her husband and two daughters Asena 12 and Sylvia 9.  She was born in Northwest Montana, and raised close to a rocky mountain lake, cherry trees, and basic herbal medicine.  Her emphasis in acupuncture is     Hormonal Balancing:   Thyroid, Fertility, and Autoimmune.

As a major in Pre Med at Seattle Pacific University, she studied her life passion to become a doctor one day.  After time with the medical studies, she realized that western medicine was missing some vital elements in health.  Frustrated by the medical model, she took a break and joined the US Peace Corp Fiji 1996. In Fiji she worked in Fisheries and Nutrition, and while working in remote villages, found Fijian Herbs and Healings.  After Peace Corp, she traveled the eastern world, where she found her spiritual self, and eventually landed on the shores of Encinitas, a town that allowed her the lifestyle she envisioned as a healer:  Yoga, Meditation, Surfing and Ocean, fresh organic food, and small conscious community.

Doctor of Chinese Medicine, L.Ac. at Indigo Dragon Center of Health

Amy attended PCOM where she had the unique opportunity to travel abroad and study Internal Medicine at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Hospital in Chengdu China, and Tibet.  She has participated as an intern at Acupuncture without Borders healing community trauma in Colorado, San Diego Children's Hospital Cancer and Pain Centers, and the UCSD RIMAC center for athletes. Amy has taken classes at home and abroad that emphasize her passion for the hormonal systems of bodies

Amy is Doctorate of Chinese Medicine.  She received her DACM from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.  Over 10 years of practicing acupuncture at Indigo has brought her into a new space with medicine.  The energy movements that happen with acupuncture needles has allowed her to understand that humans have a very unique and dynamic interaction with the universe.  She has worked with mentors to understand the magic of empathy, intuition, clairvoyancy, and energy movements.  She continues to grow as a student of energy fields each day.
